Baseball game helped spark Kavaugh Senate career

W. F. Kav Anaugh, Southern league president and future U S Senator, recalled a 1884 college game against Louisville. He said the game nearly drew him into professional baseball and triggered his later baseball writing for the Louisville Courier Journal and his rise to league presidency.

McLeod Named Captain Of Tech Hockey Team

At a Tech meeting yesterday N. D. McLeod a junior was elected captain for next year's hockey team. Rogers was chosen manager with Fletcher as assistant manager. Hurst butt was considered but ruled out due to the four year intercollegiate rule.

McCourt Defeats Moore in 66-Inning Billiards Match

Charles McCourt of Pittsburg defeated John Moore of Kansas City 50 to 34 in a national three cushion billiards league game held in Pittsburg. McCourt had a high run of five, Moore three, as the match stretched to 66 innings.

Red Sox Game Called By Cold Weather At Hot Springs
