New Mortuary Chapel to Rise at Forest Hills Cemetery
Trustees report a mortuary chapel and extended gateway project designed by Van Brunt and Howe. Excavation has begun by Cressy and Noyes. completion anticipated before Christmas. The 83 by 39 foot building includes a 16 by 24 foot superintendent’s office with vault and stairs, a bell-tower, and a 50 by 30 foot chapel with a 35 foot interior height and lancet windows in stained glass. The nave seats 92 with room for 100 more.
