Lane lauds the decision citing safety and efficiency, noting past lifeboat shortages. The season’s timetable extends later with a 10:47 p.m. departure from Nantasket and a 11:10 p.m. return from Pemberton, altering late-night travel between Boston, Pemberton, and Nantasket.
