Assistant Corporation Counsel John D. McLaughlin will be named as judge of the Superior Court today by Governor Foss. His appointment will go to the Executive Council this afternoon and lay over a week. He has notified Mayor Fitzgerald of his resignation from the law department and was recommended by the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Three Drown in Collision Near Gloucester Breakwater
Three fishermen were drowned when the schooner Hat tie A. Heckman cut under their 15 ton power boat the Hope just inside the breakwater. Charles Anderson and his son John, owners of the netting craft, perished with John Chambers in the wreck.
