Hearing on a complaint against Dr Henry E Bishop alias Bailey as principal and Mrs Margaret E Cole as accessory after the fact to a criminal abortion performed on Petrona Matson last October continued in Municipal Criminal Court before Judge Brown. Carl F Monk testified he knew Matson four months before her death and described a pre surgery visit to Bishops office on October 24 and a trip to 638 Tremont Street where Miss Matson stayed a week later. Matson died at Woburn later. The case was unfinished and to proceed today.

Roland Greene Usher, eleventh Mayor of Lynn, died at his Lynn home. Born January 6, 1825 in Medford, he pursued mercantile work, served in city government, and held multiple militia and federal posts including paymaster in the Union Army and U S marshal for the district of Massachusetts. Funeral services for Henry A. Chase former director of the signal service of the police department were held yesterday afternoon at his brother’s Lincoln street residence in Allston. Delegations from the Kearsarge Association of Naval Veterans and police units attended. Rev J Herbert Yeoman led the service with the coffin draped by the naval jack and sabre from the Rebellion.
