Boston Man Recalls Night of Distillery Visit and Accident

Roger F. Scannell recounts a July 8 1911 evening incident after leaving Glenbrook Distilling Co and Guiney's in Court Square. While boarding a Huntington Avenue car at Berth 1 he was thrown from the car when the conductor rung the bell and the car lurched dislocating his shoulder and scattering his parcel. He identifies the car starter Joseph H. McCarthy and notes his ride home to 700 Huntington Avenue after the fall. He mentions his Knights of St Patrick and Montgomery Guards ranks in a closing personal sign-off.

Hen theft arrest after heel print in Somerville hen house
