Criminal Court Trials Open For Ginter In Rubber Theft Case
Charles Ginter was brought from the South Boston House of Correction and placed on trial before Judge Dewey in the Superior Criminal Court on charges of stealing 100 pounds of crude rubber worth 75 from the Boston Belting Company on March 21. The trial remains unfinished. Fong Hang pleaded peace guilty to assault with a smoking pipe on May 1 and will be sentenced later. Morris Winberg and Israel Fleisher pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods. one was fined 350 and both face ten days to pay, or a year in the House of Correction if they do not.

Murderous fire kills Sadie B. Matthewson in Foster
Sadie B. Matthewson, 26, was killed by her paramour Samuel R. Owens, 57, in Foster, Rhode Island. Owens allegedly drank with her, struck her head with an axe, doused her with kerosene, and set her ablaze while she was still living. Owens was arraigned at Cranstown, charged with murder, waived examination, and bound over to the grand jury without bail.
