In Washington on June 27 the House resolution to submit the Susan B Anthony amendment to the Constitution failed after three hours of debate. Managers withdrew the measure with a pledge to renew the fight next week, while supporters feared a possible indefinite postponement.

Washington June 27 Nearly 800000 21 year old registrants from June 5 received questionnaires in the mail within seven days for local board filing.
