A dated advertisement touts "GETS-IT" as a fast 2 second corn remedy that banishes corn pain, warts, calluses, and bunions without harming healthy flesh. It claims no cutting or blistering, safe for irritated skin, selling at 25 cents a bottle via E. Lawrence & Co. Chicago and by Riker-Jaynes Drug Stores in Boston.
An advertisement for Eckman's Alterative promotes relief from lung troubles and colds. A testimonial claims weight restored and full recovery, noting acceptance by two insurance companies after treatment. The ad urges readers to consult Eckman Laboratory and lists Riker-Jaynes Drug Stores as sellers.
Unusual evidence was presented in Superior Court before Judge Lawton in the case of Frank A. Andrews a Washington Street jeweller against Joseph A. Williams another jeweller. Miss Effie Mc Lean former bookkeeper for Andrews and now inmate at the Worcester Insane Asylum testified in support of the claim.
