Tom Stringer to Get Diploma from Lowell School

Everett’s New Contract With Malden Electric Light

At the June 22 meeting the Board of Aldermen received the Mayor’s message announcing a new three year contract with Malden Electric Light Co. The city will pay 900 dollars for 2000 lights and receive free City Hall polices and armory lighting worth 150 dollars. The fire commissioners urge 2500 to repair Central Fire Station on Broadway and purchase adjacent land for a brick building. The board did not suspend rules to approve raising the schoolhouse appropriation from 65,000 to 75,000.

Class Day Exercises at Dorchester High School 1908

Dorchester High School observed the class of 1908 with an elaborate ceremony in the large assembly hall. G W Barker gave the welcome address, Follet Isaacson presented the class history, C E Brazer delivered the class oration, and Miss Caroline D Nute read the class ode. The program included songs by Miss Weeks and Miss Ayer, a violin solo by Miss Clark, and the senior dance to finish the event.
