Lexington High defeated East Boston High 11 to 7 in a mutual contest at Lexington Athletic Field. The meeting featured several star plays and two double plays, though the game was marred by 18 errors combined by both nines.

Lexington High nets fast start in baseball win over East Boston

Lexington High built a quick lead with six runs in the first inning and three more in the second, then added one in the third and fourth. East Boston answered with two in the first and three in the third. Ernie Viano struck out 11 for Lexington while Smith fanned six for East Boston. Seven walks and 14 calls to first aided the offense as Cassidy and Carey starred for Lexington and E J Viano led the Boston attack with multi runs and stolen bases. The final line shows Lexington 11 7 East Boston 1 in a nine inning game with Viano earning the win and Smith the loss.

Taber Breaks Brown Two Mile Record in Exhibition

Providence June 13 Norman S Taber Olympic runner and Brown graduate next Wednesday ran two miles after a baseball game with Pennsylvania setting a new Brown record. He completed the distance in 9m 812 5s beating the old college mark of 10m 144 5s set by D T Gallop in 197. Taber also established four new college marks for the mile and two for the half mile.

Commission nullifies Beall transfer to White Sox

The National Baseball Commission voided John W. Beall's transfer from Cleveland to Milwaukee for failure to seek waivers. Cleveland is fined $25 for noncompliance and Beall is awarded to Chicago under waiver price terms. Boston had also shown interest as Beall sought free agency.
