Missionaries Safe Amid Chentu Massacre Rumors

Officials of the Methodist Missionary Society expressed hope that reports of a massacre at Chentu, China were exaggerated after cable assurances dated June 3 indicating all missionaries and property were safe despite destruction. Beachmont Celebration Plans Progress in Beachmont Meeting

The Fourth of July Association of Beachmont met at Parker Hall with Lt. D D Poole presiding and a large turnout. Committees reported steady progress while a Crescent Beach Society merger faced opposition due to proposed town appropriations. Beachmont has celebrated twelve years without town aid and hopes locals will fund events regardless.
