Former Health Clerk Dies After Pneumonia Illness

Downs of 895 Charles Street, a former clerk and inspector for two years with the Boston Board of Health, died yesterday at City Hospital following a two week pneumonia illness and related diseases. He had since 1904 served as superintendent at the State Sanitarium in Lakeville and as a special officer for the Massachusetts Humane Society.
