Chelsea's thriving banks and bustling Broadway enterprises
The Chelsea area features a historic savings bank profile with First National Bank tracing back to 1850, growing in deposits and assets by 1891. It charts notable leadership, cautious investments, and July interest payouts amid a landscape of bustling commerce on Broadway and Webster Avenue, including Chase’s new ice cream and soda enterprise and the Academy of Music’s social role. Chelsea also hosts Forbes Lithographic, a 400-employee art print operation, and local art firms expanding from Boston to Chelsea with a poised, civic-minded economy.
