This week we offer remaining stock of Cassimerg and Fancy Worsted Suits with Lot 1 at $10 and Lot a at $15. All stock included, none reserved. A large number were sold Saturday, but more suits remain. Our strongest draw is the day’s customers who bought on Saturday.
MINNEAPOLIS, June 10. President Garrison was renominated today on the first ballot at the convention amid wild cheering. Harrison supporters led, Quay Clarkson Platt and Foraker looked sorrowful, New cried with joy as Harrison’s name prompted a unanimous vote and hats flew. The city roared as the crowd hailed a possible Cabinet appointment for John C. New.
Mixneaprous June 9 It seems Platt Clarkson and Quay will not nominate Blaine but push Reed and Rusk as a ticket McKinley is out of favor due to tariff. Harrison backers claim 521 delegates ready for first ballot while 651 are needed. Blaine camp tightens, Harrison caucus moves loom large.
Minneapolis dispatch reports Massachusetts figures, led by Candler, press Reed nomination as first ballot strategy. Crano hesitates to abandon Harrison, Cranes and Cogswell lean toward Reed after first ballot. Other states Ohio Kansas Virginia Indiana propose backing McKinley first, but Massachusetts could trigger Reed surge with bold lead.
