National Lancers Observe Forty Seventh Anniversary Dinner

The National Lancers forty seventh anniversary will be marked by a dinner at Faneuil Hall on Saturday at 5 o'clock. Jerome 8 Macdonald sold property at 34 Highland street Boston Highlands for 5450 to Edwin Sanford. Sullivan Brothers sold at auction a brick house and 1000 square feet at 37 East Dedham street to Patrick O'Brien for 3900. The Forty fifth Massachusetts association fixed June 26 for its annual reunion, location to be decided. Capt Henry A Snow discharged from company D fifth regiment after court of inquiry acquitted him on misappropriating funds but found against on other charges of misusing authority.

New Yorks Beat the Bostons In High-Scoring Game

The New Yorks defeated the Bostons 10 to 6 as a six-run sixth inning turned a tight game. Ewing misplayed a long drive, allowing three runs, and Wise also errored, widening the lead. Attendance at Beacon Park Sparks Horse Race Day

Beacon Park drew the largest attendance since meetings began. Two races were listed for 2:2S and 2:32 classes with multiple entries including Westover Nellie Bryant Idlewild and R. F. C. in the first heat. R. F. C. led all heats, Black Prince placed second, and fines were issued for coming down ahead of the pole horse. Legacy and Centilla led a second 2:82 class after two heats, with a dead heat for third in one. Finishing heats postponed to 1:30 PM with other races planned for 2:37 and 2:19 classes.

Skinner Leading in the Skating Race at Lynn

In the six day skating race at the Institute rink Skinner led Maddox by nine miles after Thursday as weather affected speeds. Skinner reached 500 miles in 46 hours 483 minutes, while Maddox did so in 46 hours 364 minutes. Public roller race at Lynn featured Edward Ricker winning the $50 gold medal in a later event with Parker dropping out and Rieker leaving before the finish amid audience boos.

Vermont Democratic State Convention Adopts Platform and Nominates slate

The Vermont Democratic state convention, about 500 members, opened with Hiram Atkins presiding. Felix McGettrick was temporary chairman. L. W. Redington was nominated for governor and several other statewide positions were chosen by acclamation. Delegates also formed a resolutions committee and the platform attacked tariff inequality, supported temperance measures, and urged revenue only to meet expenses while opposing monopolies. The body adjourned at 4 p.m.

Lightships Reassigned at Latimer's Reef and New NY Light

The Lighthouse Board announces on or about June 20 1884 Lightship No 44 will shift from Five Fathom Bank Northeast station and No 40 will be removed for repairs. Lightship No 24 currently on No 44 will take over the station with red hull and relief markings. A new Latimer's Reef light near Fisher's Island Sound will flash every 10 seconds from July 1 1884 with a 56 ft focal plane and 360 degree range. Lightship Ket Grass Shoal will be discontinued.

Fish Receipts At Cape Ann Port Inch Toward 100k Lb Mark
