S. Road Must Pay 41200 for 1900 Roxbury Crossing Crash

In a long trial, a Superior Court jury awarded five plaintiffs from a June 29 1900 accident $1500 to 5000 each. The S road faces a total payout of 41200 to cover damages from a car derailment that damaged a store.

Police celebrate Gieselman case in Chelsea court

Judge Bosson condemns the Miller street liquor shop as a long standing nuisance. Harry Gieselman is fined 100 dollars and jailed three months for illegal liquor selling and drunkenness. Minnie Gieselman is fined 100 dollars for liquor selling and the assault charge is filed. Police say closing the site ends a city nuisance.

Will case at Probate Court divides Brooks estate among siblings

Judge McKim ruled grandchildren are excluded from the will of Henry C. Brooks, a late merchant, leaving six equal shares for his six siblings and a nephew receiving two shares. When the last sibling dies the estate winds up and their children receive the proceeds in the same proportion, estimating about $150,000 to be divided.

Noted Fraud Trial Opens in Superior Court

A case of considerable importance is before Judge Bishop and a jury in the Superior Criminal Court. Edward S. Tanner, about 50, is charged with obtaining $500 from Charles H. Holmes by false pretences through fraudulent representations concerning the Campbell Perfume Company. The hearing resumes this morning.

Beatty Cleared in Unmailable Mail Charge

Charles S. Beatty secretary of the Mutual Loan Company was exonerated from the charge of placing unmailable matter in the mails by Assistant District Attorney Casey. The indictment had been returned by the U. S. grand jury on May 27.

Oleomargarine cases before Judge Bishop in court

The famous oleomargarine cases were before Judge Bishop in the Superior Criminal Court yesterday. The Messrs. French appeared for the defendants and were ready to proceed, but the cases did not appear as scheduled. The judge ordered counsel to return at opening of court this morning to decide further action.

Executor files suit to void deed to McDermott

Frank J. Carr executor of Mary De Wolfe's will sues the Roman Catholic archbishop of Boston to void a deathbed deed to Latina J. McDermott of Lynn and its transfer to the archbishop. He claims undue influence by Rev. Dennis F. Sullivan and fraud against estate creditors. Hearing date not yet set. McDermott works in Lynn office of William J.
