Kramer Leads At Providence Six Day Race

In Providence Rhode Island Frank L. I Kramer again led the six day team race at the Providence Coliseum finishing first with a late burst. Root was second Fenn third and McFarland fourth. Kramer has won all but one intermediate finish this day with Charles McConnell taking one of the earlier events. A daily record of 383 miles was set.

Barge with Sunday School children sinks near Hannibal bridge

A Park Methodist Sunday School excursion barge carrying about 250 children was swept from the Flying Eagle and struck the Hannibal bridge pier. Three children fell into the Mississippi during an eddy and drowned while the rest were rescued as boats arrived.

87 Year Old Man Falls 40 Feet at Atlantic Works

Yesterday afternoon August Buckman aged 87 of 179 Morris Street East Boston fell forty feet from a roof at Atlantic Works. He fractured ribs on his right side and bruised his left hip and was taken to City Hospital Relief Station.

Victory by Columbia of Winchester in Lawrence centennial event

Fifty thousand visitors attended Lawrence’s semi centennial celebration on June 3. The Columbia of Winchester won the playout with a 226 feet 178 inches throw, earning the $2590 prize while City of Lawrence got the $250 prize with 210 feet 9 inches.
