Boston to pay lower state tax this year

Boston’s share of the state tax drops to 2 548 240, nearly 659 510 less than last year when Boston paid 8 207 750. The decline follows a rise from 5 500 000 in 1911 to 9 750 000 last year, aided by an inheritance law windfall and an undercounted 1915 income.
