More than 1200 people witnessed the confirmation ceremony at Church of the Sacred Heart in Roslindale yesterday afternoon. Nineteen girls and 155 boys received the sacrament from Rt Rev Bishop Anderson with Rev John F Cummins and Rev Charles E Lane assisting. Included were converts from Dedham Hyde Park and Mattapan. Sponsors were Miss Mary C Murphy for the girls and Richard Donnelly for the boys and men. A procession followed with five year old Eileen Beacher McLaughlin drawing attention among white dressed girls and uniformed boys wearing white satin badges. Music was directed by Miss Helen M Burke.
