Market Review and Outlook Indicates Bullish Mood

The week ended with efforts by bullish operators to boost confidence in stocks. Talks of Southern Pacific dividends and a strong steel sector, plus easing money rates, influence sentiment. Analysts warn against overextension and note potential money tightening if speculation grows. Copper shares show continued fluctuation as markets lean bullish.

Increase in Interest in Stocks and Improvement in Sentiment

New York July 28 Some rise in speculative interest appeared last week as investors eyed an advance and sentiment improved about the investment outlook, though mixed views persist. The market remained chiefly active in Harriman Pacifics amid unusual action by their operators, with speculation dampened by a disclosed plan to limit future dividends. Bond markets stayed flat while short term railroad notes gained modestly. Money easing suggested temporary relief, likely to reverse as crop financing rises. Copper traded on talk of an Amalgamated Copper Rio Tinto price pact, but buying held back as market steadiness awaited clearer signals.
