The Old Home Week committee learned Vice-President Fairbanks is likely to be in Boston in the early part of the week. Governor Guild had invited him and Fairbanks telegraphed he can probably attend, planning to depart after Old Home Week to reach Lincoln Nebraska by August 3, with details to follow.
Mayor Fitzgerald wires Fairbanks that arrival will align with Monday patriotic exercises at Mechanics' building. Vice-President to attend Fairbanks family events in Dedham Tuesday and Berkeley Temple Wednesday. A special meeting Saturday at City Hall will decide making Wednesday a public holiday for the big civic and trades parade. Electrical parade route fixed from Lenox street carhouse through Harvard square to Columbus avenue, with Colonel William H. Oakes as chief marshal and staff named.
A tablet will be unveiled during Old Home week to honor Robert Treat Paine VI and commemorate the 1775 Boston Latin School protest against the British, led by students at the coast guard site. Robert Treat Paine I attended the school. descendants take interest, with Paine V’s six year old son chosen for the honor.
A Seoul dispatch reports a new seven article convention granting Marquis Ito, Japan’s Resident-General at Seoul, full internal administration of Corea and permitting Japanese officers to be appointed to Corean government posts.

Andreas Blume a wealthy lawyer at 286 Commonwealth Avenue accuses his wife Elizabeth A. Blume of unfaithfulness naming James Buckley as corespondent. This follows a prior decree obtained years ago by his former wife now Mrs H. Staples Potter at 80 Commonwealth Avenue.
Mr Blume sails from New York for Europe and will return for the October hearing of his divorce case. Mrs Blume vows to fight the suit to a finish likely filing a cross libel naming a widow from Boston as a corespondent. Malden notes ground breaking for the Faulkner Methodist Church on Salem and Pierce streets. An 80 year old woman turned the first shovelful of dirt as ceremonies opened the project valued at about 11000 dollars. Local clergy and residents attended the start of construction.

In Concord New Hampshire July 25 victory for Mrs Mary Baker G Eddy heirs in Superior Court. Judge Chamberlin denied four motions by defendants seeking an accounting of Eddy estate. Court allows the next friends to pursue a full inquiry into Eddy mental competency and estate handling with no limit on scope.
The court denied Mrs. Eddy’s counsel’s request to alter commission terms to the masters and gave 30 days to file a bill of exceptions. Motions to limit depositions and to grant an attorney’s allowance were denied. Defendants’ bid to join the preliminary inquiry was denied. Chandler’s bid to suspend bond for costs was held for further consideration. Continued on Page 5 First Column.
The Lipton silver cup, a gift from Sir Thomas Lipton, will be offered as prize in New York City fishermen races during Old Home week and will be admitted free of duty per an order issued by Acting Secretary Reynolds of the Treasury Department.
The steamship Wine throp of the Lynn Steamship Company returned to dock with its bow splintered after fog and loss of land sighting near Nahant. About 200 panic stricken excursionists were aboard. They had enjoyed a trip to Nantasket Point before fog sent the steamer off course and adrift in the harbor.
The steamer carrying about 200 Pines Club guests from Newhall's wharf to Nantasket Point struck an unlit scow near Lynn Harbor after fog reduced visibility. The impact occurred bow first as the captain steered to avoid a worse crash, passengers scrambled for life preservers, and the vessel remained afloat with no sinking risk.
Grover Fell lies between life and death after a fast throw struck his head during a Martin Luther Association game between rival nines at Tyng's Island. His brother Max reels from shock as medical workers fight to save Grover amid a precarious condition.
Max Fels pitched a fast ball aimed toward home plate striking his younger brother Grover Fels in the forehead. The injury left Grover unconscious with a fractured skull and profuse bleeding. Grover, an Andover graduate, was a noted amateur baseball player.
Charles Weiss aged 79, born in Germany, dies in Allentown poorhouse after years as a local hermit in the Lehigh Mountains. He was a longtime friend of Mendelssohn and sang tenor roles in grand opera across Europe.
The forecast notes Friday partly cloudy with showers in the afternoon and night and light variable winds. Saturday is expected to be fair. Washington reports New England will be partly cloudy with Saturday showers and light to fresh south to west winds. Eastern New York may see showers Friday afternoon or night or Saturday with cooler conditions and southwest winds turning northwest by Saturday.
