Boston Americans Triumph Over Detroit in Columbus

In Columbus Ohio on July 23 the Boston Americans defeated Detroit 6 to 1 before about 6000 fans. Cy Young pitched well aside from a first inning error and received strong run support as Boston hitters, including Collins Criger and Ferris, drove in runs in the sixth. The victory keeps Young in the rotation as a pitcher for Boston amid a rain delay that shortened play and left the field slippery.
