A 12 year old boy Henry McMahon was found dead off Salem Lynn Road with fatal head injuries and facial disfigurement. Police investigated possible assault while forestry workers reported the scene in underbrush near the roadway. Local authorities urged calm as early leads emerged and neighbors voiced shock.

A steam boiler for a calliope at Woodland Park near New London exploded injuring two carnival workers. Joseph Shiner, 65, of Charlestown Massachusetts and Fred Williams, 18, of Charlestown were taken to Lawrence Hospital with burns to the upper body. Both are expected to recover. The carnival operates under the Nest of Owls local lodge.

The body of Henry McMahon aged 12 was found in a grove near Highland Avenue, Salem. He had been missing since last Tuesday. The death appears brutal with skull crushed and heavy bruising. A Salem newsboy Michael Romano reported the discovery.
Five prohibition officers led by Agent McMasters raided a vacant house at 112 Waite Street Malden uncovering the largest moonshine factory in the state. They found a 400 gallon still 200 gallon still three 50 gallon stills 60 mash barrels and 2 gallons of moonshine. The property owner Miss Alice Weir Dorchester avenue Dorchester reported suspicions two weeks ago.
Forecast shows fair weather for Boston and nearby on Saturday and Sunday with little temperature change. Moderate southerly winds expected from New York through the coastal mid-Atlantic, and fair conditions north of Sandy Hook to Hatteras.
