A strike breakers strike began at the Brunnell textile mill in Pawtucket Rhode Island as 250 substitute workers who had filled in during the six month textile strike walked off. The removal of trucks and guards to bring workers to the mill triggered the action. Extra trolley cars were used but failed to satisfy the workers. Twenty more strike breakers were reported en route from New York to fill vacancies at the plant.
A pin bolt broke on an outbound Highland avenue car pulling a crowded trailer on the Somerville avenue bridge. The rear-end crash injured Miss Margaret Houlihan of 29 Warren street Arlington with contusions and facial abrasions as both vestibules were damaged and the cars moved about 150 feet.
Arthur Barrett world war veteran expressed delight at winning a Ford touring car for supplying the exclusive Ford a Day story to the editor Wednesday morning. He said he would use the car for business purposes.

In the American League Boston edged Chicago 3 to 2 in 10 innings while New York beat Detroit 5 to 1. Cleveland defeated Washington 8 to 2 and St Louis won 4 to 0 over Philadelphia. In the National League St Louis won 5 to 4 in 10 innings over Boston. New York defeated Cincinnati. Pittsburgh beat Philadelphia 13 to 12 in 12 innings. Brooklyn ran past Chicago 11 to 7. Eastern League games saw Springfield 2 Hartford 1. Bridgeport 6 New Haven 2. Pittsfield 4 Fitchburg 3. Albany 5 Waterbury 4.

Kansas Governor Henry J. Allen authorizes the arrest of William Allen White editor of the Emporia Gazette for alleged violations of the Kansas Industrial Court anti-picketing provision. The warrant is expected to be issued soon. The two men have long been political allies and friends.

Dublin July 2 Waterford has fallen to Free State troops led by Col Proutt a former 16th Infantry officer of the American expeditionary forces. The Irregulars held Waterford in the southwest and other towns are expected to fall soon as the offensive continues.
A crowd of over 300 chased a band of gypsies through Roxbury after fearing a white child was kidnapped. Police saved the group and later the child was confirmed the gypsy mother’s kin with a birth certificate and multi city credentials.
William Pletila, 27, of 24 Arthur Street, Quincy, fired two shots at his wife as relatives planned an examination by alienists. He fled but was arrested about a mile away, claiming he threw away the revolver. Held in 35000 for the Grand Jury and in default of bail committed. Relatives say he has shown hysteria and warned of an imminent death.
