Glover Wins Lower Niagara Rapids Swim in 26 Minutes

Willam J. Glover of Baltimore and Carlisle D. Graham of Niagara Falls swam the Niagara River lower rapids from Flat Rock to Lewiston. Glover finished in 26 minutes, beating Graham by four minutes despite a two minute setback at Devil's Hole. Both wore life belts and inflatable neck rings.

Boston wife killer collapses under murder charge

Shidloffski, the Boston wife killer, is guarded in Colorado after breaking down when told he will be tried in Massachusetts for murder. He confessed in detail to the Post, admitting he killed his wife over money and deceit and then attempted to flee to avoid hanging. He is now under guard, fearing self harm, while officials plan his Massachusetts trial.

Escapee James Dillon Flees Deer Island Jail

James Dillon alias Williams escaped Deer Island detention at 2 o clock last Wednesday. He swam the Shirley Gut to safety with help from friends and is at a hidden refuge as Deer Island officials search while avoiding Boston police involvement. Dillon is serving a six month larceny sentence and has been on the island three months.

Four Hurt In Kittery Collision Between Car And Coal Train

In Portsmouth New Hampshire four people were injured in a rear end crash between a passenger car and a coal train near Kittery Point. Thomas Seaward and his son Donald were taken home with injuries, and Mrs. Edward Duncan was carried home insensible with a head injury. Franks Ford the motorman sustained leg injuries. The passenger car carried 12 passengers as the two trains collided in a hollow between steep hills as the coal train slipped on the wire and rolled backward.

Subway Fight Triggers Panic on Boylston Street

Crowds in the Boylston Street subway were thrown into panic when H F Kowal and Charles H Herne seized two youths and accused one of stealing a pin. Fred L Casey of Saugus, 19, was arrested on larceny charges after the pin was found on his coat. Police report Casey has a prior larceny record.

Medford Police Seek Constable's Sickle Assailant

Medford authorities and neighboring towns pursue Burton Clarke of West Medford after Constable Nason B. Cunningham says Clarke attacked him with a sickle during a tax collection attempt. Cunningham required medical attention for facial and arm wounds.
