Manager Gorman presents Matthew Otts whimsical musical comedy The Happy Hunters at the Medford Boulevard Theatre with afternoon and evening showings this week. Large crowds yesterday and last night applauded the spoof full of song numbers and rapid-fire humor.
The marvellous photo drama entered its second month at Tremont Theatre with full houses for matinee and evening shows. Clergymen praised the performance, expressing unqualified approval and reverence for sacred scenes. Critics especially praised the cave preaching sequence as artistic and inspiring among many notable tableaux.
The present week’s bill at the Globe brings Finlay and the Chesleigh girls singing dancing and talking acts Cooper and Eschel a pleasing singing specialty Jimmie Green a lively character comedian Altus brothers juggling the Electros a top electric act a local reel shows President Wilson’s family arrival at the summer capital and Pathe Weekly news rounds out the program.
The Crescent Gardens venue at Revere Beach impresses with a grand ball room and theatre. The roof garden overlooks Nahant and the ocean, featuring lanterns and electric lights. Refreshments are served, and the theatre offers high quality vaudeville and first rate pictures.

A covered open air theatre in Norumbeg hosted a vaudeville program that drew two large crowds. The bill featured LaRex and LaRex aerial gymnasts, Warren and Brockway as janitors in song, Bert and Effie Weston dancing, the three O’Neill as eccentric entertainers, and the Augoust family European pantomimists jugglers who elicited strong applause.
At Lexington Park rustic theatre this week a fine vaudeville bill played to large audiences yesterday and today. The Careno trio with their canine comedian headlined a clever juggling act while Ross and Shaw offered musical whimsy. Kammerer and Rowland, dancers and singers, contributed lively numbers.
The latest society dances featured May Greene a dainty singer and dancer who won immediate favor while Felix Martin entertained with dialect stories and recitations. A fine motion picture capped the attractive programme.
The Plymouth Theatre stage offered Sham by Geraldine Bonner and Elmer Harris featuring Henrietta Crosman as Katharine van Riper. The cast included Douglas J. Wood as Tom Jaffray and Kate Ryan as the scheming aunt, with a plot about a woman pressed by poverty and a social ascent via marriage. The production, praised for its staging, returns with matinees on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday.
A Cambridge delegation from the Woman's Homestead Association led by Mrs Charlotte Smith stormed City Hall to demand Mayor J Ed Barry wed. Miss Elsie Strahan of 46 Tudor Street Chelsea and a young man were thrown several feet. Strahan sustained shock and a shaking up. Another accident followed soon after.
An auto owned by Weddell W. Weston of 120 Milk Street collided with two horse and wagon owned by Abraham Nussenbaum of 406 Cross Street Malden at the junction of Revere Beach Parkway and Vine Street in Everett. The horse was badly injured the wagon shafts were broken and the driver escaped with slight bruises.
Somerville fines Cambridge Ice Company driver William Duffy ten dollars after he delivered 296 pounds of ice to the City Home but listed it as 350 pounds. The case was pursued by John H. Dusseault, sealer of weights and measures, as part of the city crusade against false weight practices.
