Ellen F. Wetherell sues John W. Hutchinson known as the bard of Lynn for breach of promise. An attachment of 25 000 dollars was levied on Hutchinson’s property by Deputy Sheriff Brackett amid the suit in Lynn Massachusetts.
President Roosevelt and Mrs Roosevelt hosted Japanese minister Takahira at Sagamore Hill as talks on the Portsmouth peace conference and Panama Canal progress continued. Officials noted 12 000 workers on the isthmus and emphasized safety improvements and timely housing and recreation plans.
Jerry McNamara says the Douglas Club will host one of the season’s largest picnics. Brookline residents report Joseph Carrerio aged 21 of 8 Davis Place missing since last Saturday. He was known in town for musical and theatrical involvement and was reportedly carrying a sizable sum of money, raising fears of foul play.

Maguire argues the North Dock Trust seeks to inherit the Boston Tunnel Construction Company. he calls it a subterfuge, claiming permission was only for material transport during tunnel work.
The Salem Cadet Band performed at Wolf's store on Hanover and Portland streets despite showers. Fred Ballan Jr. impressed with cornet solos as the audience applauded, and the band continued playing Moonlight In Dixie amid a torrential downpour. The next concert is Friday July 21, 7:30 to 9:30, featuring the Lynn Cadet Band of Lynn.

Messrs. Jacob Dreyfus and Sons received a government contract via the quartermaster's department in Boston for 75,000 pairs of jean drawers for the regular army. The award adds to a list of contracts the firm has secured, showcasing the advantage of Boston housing the quartermaster's office.
