Two Die In Auto Race At Blue Bonnets Track
Montreal July 9. C K Batchelder of Newport Vermont and J Twohey of Montreal were killed during the second annual races of the Canadian Automobile Club at the Blue Bonnets track. Batchelder drove a 60 horsepower stock touring car in the 10 mile open race and Twohey was his mechanic.

Fatal crash ends race as Batchelder and Burman collide
On the eighth mile Batchelder passed Burman entering the back stretch. The auto dashed into a fence and flew over the embankment, stopping 40 yards beyond. Twohey was dead with a broken neck. Batchelder survived but severely mutilated with a fatal chest wound and abdominal gash.
