Rockport Cable Operator Injured in Motorcycle Accident
Robert Nugent a 34 year old cable operator from Rockport was thrown from a motorcycle after his companion Eugene Lord stood on the mudguard to ride. Nugent suffered a brain concussion and grim prognosis while Lord escaped with bruises and abrasions. Nugent's brother John was killed four months earlier in a wagon accident.

Dr Edward Burke 86 well known dentist drowned while swimming at Dog Pond Natick with Fred Babcock. After cramps struck Burke disappeared under water during a 50 foot swim. Police and campers searched till midnight but no trace found. John Neary and Daniel Whalen helped in the dive efforts.

Lightning strikes Gould Street causes street flood in Wakefield
A bolt of lightning struck the barn of William H. Sprague then entered the water main and burst it. Water flooded Gould street Wakefield filling cellars of two houses including those of Sprague and George Henderson. Rain aided flooding until the water department shut off the main.
