A tornado and thunderstorm west and south of Nocona Texas killed 15 and injured many as farmhouses and buildings were destroyed. The Dixie schoolhouse 6 miles south was blown away and Montague reports 10 deaths with ongoing casualty updates.
Severe rain in Baltimore county caused the harbor to back up, flooding the lower street levels of the business district. City streets remain inundated and street car service in the central area is paralyzed while damage estimates are not yet available.
News from St Petersburg reports the Kniaz Potemkin, after delivering coal provisions and medicines, is at large in the Black Sea with unknown destination. The crew issued a manifesto declaring civil war against the Russian regime and pledging inviolability of foreign shipping. The mutineers may head to Poti or Batoum, while the Black Sea squadron searches for the vessel.
Dana Estes Jr. son of a Boston publisher and his guest William Bennett of Templeton Street, with their chauffeur Benjamin M. Piper, escaped serious harm after a collision on Cumberland Street. They were driving from Huntington Avenue toward Columbus Avenue when they hit a fence separating Cumberland Street from railroad tracks. the car was demolished.

In Tide Water coal mine at Vivian West Virginia, an explosion injured nine workers all Italians. Two men died later in hospital while three more are in precarious condition. Officials say a heavy shock in robbing pockets ignited dust. Mine owned by Tide Water Coal and Coke Company.
