Westfield July 6 Governor Douglas is billed to arrive at 1 17 PM and preside over a grand review after a sham battle and dress parade. Gen Miles describes the afternoon maneuvers with brigades, cavalry wings, and mixed infantry artillery actions lasting about 90 minutes before evening rest.
Odessa reports rumors of Kniaz Potemkin bombarding Theodosia with Theodosia town burning and garrison looting. A torpedo boat mutiny is claimed with another torpedo boat joining the mutineers and rumors of a sinking.
Kansas City hosts Thomas W. Lawson at a Friday banquet as the guest of the Knife and Fork Club known as the 400. The club limits membership to 400 leading citizens and all tickets are sold.
Lawson, labeled Copper King and foe of the Standard Oil crowd, is set to co speak with District Attorney William Travers Jerome at the Midland Hotel banquet. Ticket demand is strong with crowds willing to pay premium prices to hear him reveal alleged financial rottenness. Jerome arrived last night and Lawson is due by private car at 11 tomorrow morning.
Mrs. McDonald of 11 Com meresng'street Gloucester reported two daughters missing after they left home Wednesday afternoon to visit an aunt. They were last seen boarding a Boston bound train at 4:08 pm. Police broadcast description as frantic search continues.
Thomas Pomeroy 60 of Cambridge directed rescuers as they cut through the elevator shaft after being crushed between the platform and wall in a Sudbury street building. He died before transport to hospital. He leaves a widow and four children, with ties to Black Knights and True Blue Lodges.
The west bound Great Northern Flyer jumped the track at Spring Brook Nebraska? 21 miles east of Williston North Carolina last night. About 30 people were hurt including one seriously burned when seven cars burned after a gas tank exploded under the smoking car. Officials reported no rail spreading and could not explain the accident. Most victims suffered burns but most could continue their journey today. C H Stricker of Boise City Idaho was in critical condition.
In Bass Point on July 6 two young women Miss Hanlon and Miss Connell entered a burning cottage on Irving Road at 3:45 pm and rescued owner Miss J Richardson who was overcome by smoke. Fire not serious, but the sisters aided the stricken woman and directed bystanders.
Three men clung to the bottom of a capsized boat a quarter mile from Mont shore and cried for help. Captain Gordon Foster of the Bay State Yacht Club reached them in time, taking them to the Rippling Wave cottage and later home. Rescued were John Clancy of Roxbury, William A Wilson of Roxbury, and Harry Walter of Revere, all Tivoli Hotel Boston employees. The boat overturned due to heavy sea.

July 6 South Framingham reports telephone lineman George Porter age 30 was fatally injured when a live wire touched him. His body hung for about fifteen minutes before removal. Porter was unmarried.
