Great gains reported as British forces seize Fricourt and French troops take Curly as Allied front lines push forward. German resistance falters to onslaught while air battles intensify across multiple battlefields with heavy supplies captured.

Gerald O Connor 15 of 77 Porter Road North Cambridge and John Hamilburg 19 of 167 M Street South Boston drowned yesterday. O Connor, an honor graduate of Cambridge Latin School, died in a canoe accident at Spy Pond Arlington. Hamilburg perished at the Charles River in Dedham.
Charles Daley watched as his friend James O Connor fell from a canoe and drowned after two nearby youths photographed the scene while others in canoes did not aid. Police recovered the body within minutes at the pond.
John Hamilburg 19 of South Boston died yesterday afternoon when a canoe with John Williams capsized half a mile below the Ames street bridge on the Charles River Dedham. Williams reached shore. Louis Hamilburg, a brother, nearly jumped in to rescue but was held back.

Eva, 16, handled a pistol shown by George Jones, 16, who faces a charge of carrying a pistol without a permit. The weapon, bought to celebrate the Fourth, discharged on the Duprey home lawn, striking Edward in the chest and causing his death before medical help could arrive.
Amesbury July 2 George Howara of Hampton N H is dying at Anna Jacques Hospital Newburyport and Albert Gessing and Frederick Redmond of North Andover are severely injured in a motorcycle crash they rode toward Salisbury Beach along Pond Hill Howard stepped from a street car directly into their path.
July 2. George Lee was almost instantly killed during a thunderstorm when a tree toppled onto him as he climbed from a boat at Lake Massapuc Lakeview.
