Man Arrested in Roxbury Fatal Fight

Joseph A. ONeil of Dorchester was arrested and charged with manslaughter for a fatal blow in a June 16 fight on Washington Street Roxbury. John W. Lacey of Roxbury died yesterday after striking his head on the curb during the confrontation. Meanwhile at New York City, former State Senator Stephen Stilwell’s execution was postponed at the District Attorney’s request. Stilwell had faced bribery charges and was to begin a four to eight year sentence at Sing Sing.

Heat Toll Mounts After Sudden South Bend Storm

Nine people died in South Bend Indiana over two days as extreme heat took lives and a late thunderstorm cooled temperatures. Four deaths occurred today with one more person overcome. five fatalities were recorded yesterday as the heat wave intensified.

Drowned Men In Saugus Creek Tragedy Claims Bolman

Thomas S Bolman 28 of 69 Clifton avenue Saugus drowned while bathing in Saugus Creek. Louis Campello 29, also of the same address, narrowly escaped. Campello, able to swim a little, tried to aid Bolman as the outgoing tide carried him away. Bolman body not recovered. search planned at low tide tomorrow.

Wireless tappers nabbed in New York amid $10,000 swindle

Two men described as expert wireless tappers were arrested with Edward Lee Davison of Charlotte after a failed $10,000 swindle. Police say the suspects gave names as John Jones and George Harris and were ensnared by Davison who plotted with police after losing $700 on a supposed "sure thing."
