Their remarks reflect strong local support for the evangelization drive as Rev J Wilbur Chapman joins to push the campaign into its regular, machine like pace in this city.
The second night of the campaign drew far more attendees than opening night as 156 churches and 25 groups packed Tremont Temple and Park Street Church. Dr. Chapman and Mr. Alexander led meetings with overflow crowds, and the Lynn session last night also drew a large audience.

Thomas Thornton of 35 East Street Dorchester was struck by a concealed dynamite charge while digging behind the stables at Franklin Park. The blast hurled him into the air and tore his face and head. his left eye may be lost. He was taken to City Hospital for emergency care. The dynamite charge reportedly dated from four years ago.
The flag at half mast signals a sea tragedy as the knockabout fishing schooner Pontiac, commanded by Captain Enos Nickerson, limped into port with news of a crew member's death. Thirteen others survived after a perilous trawl in a terrific gale around noon Tuesday off the middle banks.

John Brennan and John Lonergan were saved with aid from Fred Maddocks who seized Lonergan when his dory sank and hauled him aboard.

Word reaches the State Department from the American consulate in Canton that Miss Georgia Jeffrey of Juneau Wisconsin, a former Treasury Department clerk now posted in the Philippines, married Prince Alfred A Prenheim Gargarin of Russia in Canton several weeks ago.
President Roosevelt appointed a commission to consider certain needs of the Navy Department. The move comes after a prior summit in Washington where members endorsed Secretary Newberry's reorganization plan and amid a Senate inquiry into naval expenditures and administration.
President appoints an eight member navy commission headed by Paul Morton to study organization and war preparation. Secretaries Newberry and Moody surprised by the action. The panel will examine defects in law, division of responsibility, bureau functions, military advisers, budgeting accountability, and emphasize military control under the secretary for peacetime readiness. The panel will report on core principles now and specific organizational changes later.
Paul Morton former New York secretary of the navy joins Justice Moody from Massachusetts and Judge Dayton former naval affairs chair in a roster of prominent naval leaders. The list includes Rear Admirals Luce Mahan Folger Evans Cowles and others across Rhode Island New York Vermont Washington D C and Vermont with the bureau of equipment chief among them.
Captain Thomas Fenlon of the Standard Oil towboat City of Everett says he could have saved the Republic if Captain Sealby had allowed. He asserts the Everett could have towed the waterlogged liner to safety and run her aground near Martha's Vineyard in six hours.
Captain Fenlon of the Everett offered to tow the disabled Republic at 8 30 PM Saturday but Captain Sealby refused. Salvage could cost White Star about 20000 if the Everett towed the Republic to safety, yet Sealby avoided the risk to spare his owners. Seafaring men claim Fenlon’s ship 2900 was sacrificed to save the larger bill and question the implications for damages settlements.
Captains Sealby of the Republic and Rawson of the Baltic with officers and men from both ships received an ovation at the Circle Theatre in New York. Baltic flags decorated the venue, loaned by White Star line officials, as electric Q D letters lit the boxes and the audience stood to cheer at 8 25 PM.
