In Pyctsf ield Mass Judge Tucker dismissed complaints against Morris Clary and W P Burbank after a day of testimony. No witness proved purchases or sales at either shop though refreshments were on the counter. The judge noted lunches could imply liquor sales if the lunch business were mere vaion. Clow will not pursue further due to lack of evidence.
John Robertson and other stockholders file a bill in equity against the Northern railroad and its officers asking for a division of the corporation surplus, estimated at about a million and a half. A temporary injunction blocks any disposition of surplus securities, with a hearing set for January 27 in Concord.
A Greenville Pa special reports the Jamestown savings bank has closed, paralyzing business. The failure is expected to exceed 50 000 dollars with three assignments recorded. In ten days over 16 000 dollars were deposited to bridge the affair, while cashier Martin remains missing.
A Special from Arkansas City reports Gen. Hatch has surrounded the boomers at Stillwater, intends to starve them out, and restricts access while allowing departures. A courier notes several leaving as provisions run short. Oklahoma supporters fail to raise relief funds. no firing has occurred.
In Odesse three men were arrested for freight car robbery on the Chicago and Alton railroad revealing a large gang that has stolen nearly 26 000 dollars worth of goods from the company’s cars in recent months. Seven more men were arrested in Lexington last night and more arrests are expected.
A despatch from Yuma, Arizona reports that troop M of the fourth cavalry reached the area with 12 Mexican bandits as prisoners. Four bandits were killed in the engagement. Troop E pursues the remainder to secure all prisoners. The captives are said to be mutinous Mexican soldiers who killed their officer at Encevada on the 2nd.

An informal gathering of leading Missouri Democrats was held at the Falmouth hotel in Portland to mark the November success. W A Cromwell, state committee chairman, issued a call for a new committee meeting at Motel North in Augusta on the 29th inst for organizational steps.
At Simon Benedicts farm in Groton New York a portable engine used for timber cutting exploded. Engineer Edwin Phelps and 10 year old Edward Benedict were killed instantly. Simon Benedict suffered a crushed skull and severed leg. doctors say he cannot live. His son Byron also lost a leg and is fatally injured.
St Louis judge rules in favor of Mr. R B Hart collecting 27444 from Harrison Wire company. Edwin Harrison’s estate was sold under a deed of trust for 860, with property appraised at about 200000. Hart plans to seek to set aside the sale.
Essex county grand jury returned an indictment against Daniel Dodd president of the Newark S institution for making illegal investments in breach of the 1878 law. The indictment stems from dealings with Fisk and Hfiatch. It has not yet been returned to court.
In Magnolia Mississippi a black man Patrick Woods who killed Constable Michael Brown in McComb City was recaptured and jailed. A mob of masked men broke the jail and hanged Woods on a tree around two o'clock this morning.
The will of the late Schuyler Colfax was admitted to probate in Olth Bend, Ind. The family residence with its contents goes to Mrs. Colfax, eight tenths of the residue to her, and the rest to Schuyler Colfax Jr. The estate is valued at about $650, with no encumbrances.
