Money Market And Stock Notes In Boston Ledger

The money market remains easy with ample loanable funds enabling discounts of good business paper at 4 to 4 1/2 percent and miscellaneous at 5 to 6 1/2 percent. Corporation paper is scarce at 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 percent. Clearing house balances were 1 percent with gross exchanges $11,938,449 and balances $1,642,007. Boston mining stocks showed steady strength with dividend payers favored. various rail and utility issues moved on renewed earnings and car trust negotiations. Dividends were declared by Salem Five Savings, Hartford Carpet, Pacific Mail Steamship, and West Philadelphia Passenger Railway.
