Miss Emma Wellman and Councilman Fred A. Ewell quietly wed at Berkeley Temple yesterday afternoon and left for New York. Wellman, a Boston born singer educated at the New England Conservatory, will honeymoon nearby before returning to Boston. Ewell, Ward 12 councilman, is one of the city’s youngest and most admired politicians known for a brilliant career.

Man Hunt Marches Through Swampscott Woods

In Swampscott today about 200 men and boys searched the woods for a colored man who assaulted Mrs. Caroline Johnson of Belmont Avenue last evening. Residents voiced lynch sentiment if captured, while Mrs. Johnson, bandaged and recovering, described severe injuries including a blackened eye and a broken nose.

Burglars Strike Brookline Home on Brooks Street

Burglars entered the home of Fred H. McCausland at 28 Brooks Street in Brookline last evening between 8 and 9 o clock while the family was away. They took cut glass and jewelry valued at about 150 dollars including a lady's gold watch and chain, three gold jeweled stickpins, and other glass pieces.

Philadelphia foreman shot near Fore River works

Winfield Scott Pote, foreman at the Fore River works, was shot yesterday while working aboard the Rhode Island area. James Riley was detained on threat charges. the wound, from a flying steel fragment, led to hours of uncertain diagnosis and an impending X-ray exam.

Robbery in Crombie Street Assault Hits Salem Man

William R. Luxton a Salem blacksmith was attacked by two men from an alley on Crombie street while returning home. They robbed him of 90 dollars and knocked him unconscious with a heavy weapon before fleeing. Police believe local assailants were drawn by Luxton display of money earlier in a saloon.

Brookline Church thief arrested after late patrol

Edward Kennedy twenty, of no fixed address, was arrested by Brookline police after 9 o clock for larceny of a silk umbrella from St. Pauls Church in Brookline. He will be arraigned.

Clever Mitchell Snares Thefts Suspect In Forest Hills Car

Miss Margaret Mitchell, a stenographer, identified Samuel Wolinski as a thief after her purse vanished aboard an outward bound car at Forest Hills. Police were summoned by the conductor and officers Bisbee and Cleveland of Division 13. Wolinski initially denied the theft but later confessed.
