The Massachusetts electoral college cast its 18 votes for Wilson and Marshall and adjourned after electing Hon. William Taylor to succeed John J. Mahoney as elector. George Harlow, governor’s assistant secretary, was chosen as messenger to carry returns to Washington.

College Electors Name Leaders and Elect Officials

Colonel William A. Gaston presided as college president elect. Seventeen electors attended and voted by rising to announce choices. Woodrow Wilson received eighteen votes for president. Governor Marshall of Indiana named as vice president. Electors Drinkwater Creamer and Cummings tasked to deliver the result to the governor. The session adjourned at 11:45 after paying a visit to the governor at the executive mansion.
