Legislature Brief Session in Both Branches

Horse Runaway Injures Coachman and Miss Martin on Essex

A phaeton driven by Mr A B Martin’s span ran away on Essex street Friday, throwing the coachman and a Miss Martin to the ground. The coachman was severely injured in the back and shoulders while Miss Martin sustained bruises. Electric exhibition draws largest crowd yet

A large audience attended last evening's electrical exhibition, the largest yet. A broken axle halted rail service briefly but will be iced today and resume tonight. Visitors praised the phonograph, Bijou theatre, electric railway rides, and the striking light effects. Admission remains low and urges all to attend while at peak.

Veterans of Roxbury Firemen Form Old Timers Association

About 26 veterans gathered Friday at Friendship hall in Roxbury to form a new veteran firemen organization modeled after Boston and Charlestown groups. Attendees represented Warren No.1 America No.2 Torrent No.6 Tremont No.7 Goohituate Hose and Washington Hook and Ladder No.1.

Fire destroys Durham tobacco storage and Lyon factory

Telegraph reports fire last night in a large tobacco storage warehouse at Durham and the smoking tobacco factory at Z I Lyon & Co were entirely destroyed. Losses include Citizens' National Bank building 4000, H A Reams 25000, Blackwell Tobacco 25000, Lyon & Co 20000. Other fires: New York dye works on West Twelfth street burned for 60000, Reading North Reading house damaged by fire, and Lake Shore and Michigan Southern railroad shops in Collinwood burned for 40000.
