New Station at South Framingham Opens for Travel

The Boston and Albany Railway unveils a new station at South Framingham replacing the old building. It spans 130 by 35 feet with a 16 by 230 foot platform roof, built of Braggville cranite and freestone trim. The center houses a 60 by 32 foot waiting room with brick wainscoting and oak, plus a grand fireplace. End facilities include a ladies’ parlor, agents’ and telegraph offices, a restaurant by Armstrong, and rooms for gentlemen. Stone baggage rooms stand at each end, with steam heating and gas lighting. The Old Colony pays rent to use the union station, and trains will pass on the north side of the building.

Police nab two for hair trunk theft in Boston

Fatal fall and injury incidents reported at Roxbury hotel

James Sinnott, 60, of Utica street, fell 12 feet into the Hotel Warner basement in Roxbury where he worked. He was found Friday morning suffering from a spinal injury. Also Friday afternoon Daniel Welch, a Gloucester fisherman, was struck by a fish truck being pushed by a focused worker, dislocating one ankle and he was taken to the city hospital.
