A West Shore freight train struck a land slide at Clearwaters one mile north of Highland today derailing nine cars and the locomotive. Some crew members were reported injured as southbound trains were delayed. The slide happened near the earlier Atlantic express wreck site where four cars burned recently.
Morris Lary, a Detroit immigrant with a glass eye, came to Toronto months ago and opened an accounts collection agency. He gained trust among tradesmen but has now fled to the United States, leaving creditors with estimated losses between five thousand and ten thousand dollars.
