James Edward Nowlin, a 17 year old boy, confesses to killing George Codman in Codman’s stable. He planned the crime after learning Codman’s expected take of $600, dismembered the body, and attempted to cover the crime by scattering remains across Charlestown and Boston while continuing his milk route with his brother. Two companions were briefly accused but released.
E Duncan Sniffin of No 3 Park row, an advertising agent with a $175000 yearly business, failed and assigned to Madison James Holmes Ferris with no preference. Liabilities around $100000. assets unknown. Notes and book debts totaled about $150000 but largely of little value due to maker failures. The collapse followed the Duffy Malt Whiskey Co and George W Laird & Co failures.

The arbitration committee settled the wages dispute at Edgar Thompson Steel Works in Prrrspure and ordered work to resume in all departments Monday. New scales raise wages on a general average by 10 percent.
