Novack’s Offer Is Declined in Counterfeiting Case
Moses Novack, held in the Revere counterfeiting case, asked Assistant District Attorney Casey for a chance to talk about his role. Joseph Baumblette testified in New York against six men, then was brought back for a hearing before U S Commissioner Shields. Authorities say no setup will aid Novack, with full evidence ready. John Davis remains silent as hearings loom Friday for all involved.

Arrival of the Cambrian After Severe North Atlantic Crossing
The overdue steamer Cambrian from London arrived Saturday night after a 16 day voyage marked by a brutal eastward shove and dense ice. Captain Lee praised the worst passage of the winter, with icy decks and heavy seas. The ship carried 1300 tons of cargo, six cattlemen, a stowaway from Brookline, Mass., and a bulldog. Ice floes and dredger markers shifted, while local ferry and port operations displayed flags for Mayor Collins. Dock prices rose as haddock and cod moved at high rates, and three rescuers saved three men from the cold near T wharf. Import and export values for the week were reported, with substantial container activity and vessel movements noted.

Pollock Rip lightship blown off station but anchors hold
Chatham, Jan 4. During a northwest gale the Pollock Rip lightship dragged mooring about a mile southeast, then anchors caught again. It is expected she will resume station once the gale abates. Other three lightships were iced up and at dark. The Monomoy Point life-saving telephone line was broken today but remains working to Chatham and Monomoy stations.
