Explosion Wrecks Keasbey Hotel During Dance Anniversary

Harbor Ice Floe Snatches Men From Death

John Sullivan and William Harmon of Houghs Neck drifted three and a half hours in a small dory amid crushing ice in Quincy Bay. Rescue by the Guardian patrol boat saved them just before they reached Pig Rocks. They were towed to Nut Island and warmed after being drawn ashore.

Obituary: John McNulty Died in Exertion after Pickup

John McNulty aged 60 a foreman at the Charles Town playground died of exposure at 10 last night while being taken to the Relief station in a police wagon. He was found seated against a fence near the Somerville line by George Lyfe who then carried him to John Lynch’s home. A small dog accompanying him was also taken to the hospital.

Blaze Drives Medford Family From Snowbound Home

In a raging blizzard in Medford, Lombard Williams and family fled a snowbound mansion as fire destroyed their residence and furnishings worth over 20000 dollars. Dr Edward Russell, dubbed the alleged bogus check man, was captured by Brookline police on Saturday. He kept investigators on the jump all day as crowds queued at the station to identify him, claiming to be a physician and swindling people out of money.

Walpole Man Calvin Whittier Dies After Cold Night

An elderly man identified as Calvin J. Whittier of Walpole died from exposure after a cold Saturday night at the Washington and Bedford streets corner and later at the Relief station. The 60 year old was found unconscious and succumbed to the cold.
