Returns from the American Legion two day Daisy Drive show more than $50,000 collected on streets statewide. Dr. Eugene J. McCarthy, chairman, said 700000 flowers of all kinds were issued from state headquarters and posts reported sold out when finished.
A rusty revolver, kept among sentimental knickknacks in an attic for 18 years, fired yesterday noon as Mary Elizabeth, a junior at Everett High School, prepared to sit at the piano and play hymns she had sung at church.
