Burglary Gang Loots Three City Shops

A gang attacked the business district late Saturday night and early yesterday morning looting or destroying property worth several thousand dollars. The targets included the office building at 293 Washington street the Bouve Sterling shoe store 13 Water street the jewelry store of C A W Crosby Avon and Washington streets and the Daley Co liquor store 467 Atlantic avenue with details listing valuables stolen or damaged amid the break ins.

Governor Foss to commute Cusumano murder sentence

Governor Foss indicated in a Post interview that he plans to commute Mrs Lena Cusumano from death to life imprisonment. He said he is lenient toward women in trouble and would be sorry to see a woman electrocuted in Massachusetts. He noted he is not fully briefed on the case.
