Forger Maher Claims Patrick Pardon Fueled by Delusion

Thomas F. Maher, a self confessed forger who shared Sing Sing cells with Albert T. Patrick, says a long campaign to free Patrick used deliberate illusion to influence Governor Dix. He asserts Milliken and others aided the effort and that Dix was moved by Justice O Brien’s opinion to grant a full pardon.

Man of eighty three dies in swimming accident

Steamer American Grounded Off Sea Isle City

The Dutch tank steamer American went ashore off Sea Isle City New Jersey yesterday and remained hard aground late tonight. Revenue cutter Mohawk tried to release her, four tugs joined the scene, and another attempt at high tide is planned to pull her off the sandbar though hopes are slim.
