In a dramatic street incident reports say Madero and Vice President Suárez were slain while en route to jail. Huerta alleges prisoners attempted escape but witnesses say both leaders were shot by guards under orders. The killings heighten turmoil as authorities seek control.
Temple Craige, 37 Lawrence street Wakefield, suffered heart failure while driving across the Wellington bridge yesterday afternoon. His car crossed the roadway, struck the sidewalk on the east side and plunged into the Mystic river eight feet below. Mrs Craige and Miss Nellie Wilkins were riding with him. High tide prevented the car from turning over.
Andrew J. Leahy, 19, watched the accident from his window and rushed to help. He dragged the unconscious Mr. Craige from a partially submerged car, keeping his head above water until George W. Brennan and others arrived to assist. The pair were later taken to Somerville Hospital by Mrs. Craige.
In Salem on February 23 the cross examination of Stockton police Chief Frank Briare raised the possibility that the Marsh killing in the William A. Dorr murder trial may implicate another person. Dorr's senior counsel C Neal Barney pressed witnesses to compare the physical abilities of marsh with the defendant, suggesting self defense or an additional accomplice could be involved.

Mrs Rose Spogard, 30, a newlywed of six months, shot her husband Sven Spogard about 1 30 this morning in their room at 17 Pearl Street lodging house in Lynn. She told a passerby she had committed the murder and was arrested after going to the street. She said he planned to leave for a divorce and jealousy prompted the shooting, three bullets into his head.
James and Mary Gulliver, age 60 and 58, of 367 Dorchester Street, were found unconscious last evening in South Boston from gas escaping a radiator. Kathleen Fairbairn reported the odor. Patrolman Moriarty and Thomas Barry forced entry to aid the couple at City Hospital where they were not expected to recover.
A Philadelphia notice from G Ogden of 907 Dickinson Street asserts a patent medicine cure for a baby’s cold. The brief ad-like statement presents the claim without corroborating details or medical endorsement.
Francisco I Madero and Jose Pino Suarez were assassinated at midnight while being moved from the National Palace to the penitentiary.
