Rioting in East Boston near Central Square halted after a strike among men’s garment workers. Fourteen men arrested, three hospitalized with fractured skulls, two treated at the police station, and over 30 injured from cuts and bruises as the clash prompted escape from the area.
Strikers, strike-breakers, police and relatives clash in the streets. Combatants fight under horse hoofs and against trolley car fenders as clubs, pipes, bottles and bricks fly. Knives and revolvers appear while women and children flee to alleys for safety.
Frederick L. Evans aged 17 was shot and killed when a revolver in the hands of Harrison D. Dugan aged 15 accidentally discharged at Allandolph tailors, 136 Pearl Street, Somerville.
In Somerville a pistol accident in a tailor shop left eight grade student Evans dead on arrival at hospital. Dugan was jailed for murder pending investigation while Capozzi was held as a witness. Eyewitnesses say the gun went off without warning when Dugan handled a revolver found near Capozzi.

A five story brick building at 239 to 245 Causeway Street suffered a ruinous blaze early last night. Five firemen were injured four from smoke and one blown through a window as flames gutted the Braman Dow & Co. plumbers and steam fitters supplies building. Damage estimated at 300000.
